My Neighbor Totoro
My Neighbor Totoro is a 1988 Japanese animated fantasy film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It is the second film produced by Studio Ghibli. The story follows two sisters, Satsuki and Mei, who move to a new home in the countryside with their father to be closer to their mother, who is recovering from an illness in a nearby hospital. They soon discover that their new home is inhabited by friendly spirits called soot sprites and various mythical creatures, including the titular Totoro, a large forest spirit.
