Kobayashi is the main human character in the series Kobayashi-san Chi no Maidragon. She is a young office worker who lives alone in her apartment. Kobayashi is depicted as a responsible, hardworking, and polite individual. She is also shown to be quite naive and inexperienced with the supernatural world. Kobayashi's life changes when she meets Tohru, a dragon who becomes her maid. Throughout the series, Kobayashi's character evolves as she learns to understand and appreciate the magical world that has entered her life.
