Gaol, also known as Medusa in Western releases, is the main antagonist in the Kid Icarus series. She is the goddess of darkness and the ruler of the Underworld. Gaol is depicted as a powerful, evil, and manipulative character who uses her beauty to deceive others. She is the primary adversary of Pit, the protagonist of the series. In the games, she is shown to be cunning and manipulative, often using her powers to control and deceive others. Her ultimate goal is to take over the world and rule over both the Underworld and the Overworld.
