Captain Marvel, also known as Carol Danvers, is a superheroine in the Marvel Comics universe. She first appeared in Marvel Super-Heroes #13 in 1968. Danvers is an Air Force pilot who gains superpowers after being exposed to radiation from a Kree device. She has superhuman strength, speed, agility, endurance, and the ability to fly and project energy blasts. She has been a member of the Avengers and has starred in several comic book series. In 2019, she starred in a solo film, Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larson, which was a critical and commercial success.
